Admission requirements

Having completed the first year of a BA programme and attained B1 starting level in the French language.

Description

The aim of this course is to improve the level of French, a daily spoken language in Morocco, of intermediate spreakers. In order to achieve this, studentes will give presentations, engage in dialogues and participate in discussion. The course will make use of audiovisual materials to help students improve their listening skills.

Course objectives

Students are expected to be able to express themselves with more confidence and take part in conversations on topics that are more complicated than topics on everyday life such as education, culture, history, and politics.

Course Load

The total course load is 140 hours (5 EC), allocated as follows:

  • Tutorial attendance: 8 x 6 = 48 hours

  • Preparation of tutorials and assignments, and test preparation: 91 hours

  • Quizzes and tests: 1 hours

Assessment method

Assessment

  • Classroom participation: 40%

  • Quizzes and assignments: 20%

  • Final test: 40%

Quizzes and tests mainly consist of speaking and listening exercises.

Weighing

The final mark for the course is established by determining the weighed average.

Resit

If the final grade is 5 or less students may take a resit once (100%).
Exam Review

Exam review

If a student requests a review within 30 days after publication of the exam results, an exam review will be organized.

Blackboard

Blackboard will be used for reading and study materials.
