Course objectives
The course aims to provide students with a profound knowledge of topics falling under financial services and procurement regimes of both air and space activities. Lectures on aircraft financing cover the Geneva Convention, the Cape Town Convention including the aircraft protocol and, financial transactions pertaining to aircraft and part of aircraft, aircraft leasing and aircraft repossession. For space activities topics include space insurance, risk and liability, contracting and procurement in space, the UNIDROIT Space Protocol and dispute settlement.

Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students:
have thorough knowledge and understanding of the key issues in finance and procurement of aerospace activities;
know the most important case law in the area of aircraft finance and procurement of aerospace activities;
can explain the rules and their applicability for aircraft financing and procurement regimes in space activities.
can explain the various legal issues pertaining to finance and procurement of aerospace activitie and come with analyses and possible ways of addressing these issues;
can apply the rules to cases;
can solve practical case studies;
are able to undertake an individual research project in the area of finance and procurement of aerospace activities.

Examination
Blended learning students will work on three assignments to be submitted via Brigthspace. The course is successfully passed if an average of 6 among the assignments is obtained. No exam is required if a weighted average of 6 is obtained for the assignments.
