There are no specific admission criteria. But, in view of the final attainment levels envisaged, minors are most suitable for third-year bachelor's students.
Description
The course familiarises students with different research methods such as as participant observation, in-depth interviews, visual research methods and online ethnography. Weekly practical assignments serve as a step-by-step preparation for the students’ own research projects. During the module “Research Design”, students learn to formulate their own research projects and write a coherent and feasible research proposal: formulating a research question, planning the research, using theories and concepts, relating their research to existing knowledge.

Developing generic skills, including research, analysis, critical thinking and oral presentation skills.

Written reports on practical assignments (40%);
Research proposal (40%);
Participation in seminars (20%).
Weighing
The final mark for the course is established by determining the weighted average.
Resit
If the final grade is 5.5 or less students should rewrite the research proposal and the written assignments.
Exam review
If a student requests a review within 30 days after publication of the exam results, an exam review will be organized.
