MSc Internship: Archaeological Science

Vak
2021-2022

Admission requirements

Admission to the Master Archaeology programme, specifically the Archaeological Science track.

Description

This elective offers you a possibility to apply and improve your previously acquired skills in one of the specialisation courses, or, alternatively, to expand your skills in a field that is not offered in our programme.
The internship provides a practical component to complement the more theoretical aspects of the master programme.
You may seek an internship outside academia, in a professional context, or, several of our own staff members may offer some internships as well.

The internship involves a small practical project of at least 15 working days, and can take various forms, but will usually consist of laboratory work or data analysis, which is part of a research project.
Before the start of the internship, you will write a feasible work proposal, which has to be approved by one of the Archaeological Science staff members before the internship can take place.

The internship is assessed by a report, in which you will critically reflect upon the practical activities, and place these in a wider comparative framework within the field of archaeological science, as well as contextualise the importance of the activities, and evaluate how this experience has contributed to your own development in the chosen field. This will be part of the requirements for the internship report.

Course set-up
