At the end of this course, students are expected to have knowledge of the historical grammar of Sanskrit phonology and morphology, and to be able to use this knowledge to predict the Sanskrit outcome of Proto-Indo-European reconstructions and to reconstruct the Proto-Indo-European ancestor of Sanskrit words.
