Description
In this course students will learn to read Ugaritic texts. After a brief introduction to the grammar of Ugaritic, additional linguistic skill will be developed through reading texts initially in transcription and later from photographs.
Course objectives
Studwents will learn Ugaritic grammar and get a grounding in the city’s material culture, history and literary production.

In addition to the regular seminars there will be 5 tutorials during which we will investigate topics that have arisen in the main seminar sessions in more depth.

The final mark for the course will be determined by using the weighted average of these marks.
Resit
Should the overall mark be unsatisfactory, the paper is to be revised after consultation with the teacher.
Inspection and feedback
Essay feedback tutorials will be offered (students who would like one, should request it from the the lecturer).
