Admission requirements
Students are allowed to do an internship in their second (or third) semester provided they have finished at least 20 EC in course work. Apply to the MA Arts and Culture Board of Examiners and contact the Humanities Career Service and the Coordinator of Studies.
Description
The MA Arts and Culture offers students the possibility to take up an internship as their free component. The Internship can be with an organisation/institution in the field of Art History and in or outside of the Netherlands. Students are free to choose their own host institution, but the Department also offers a selection of possible internships at important institutions such as the Netherlands Institute for Art History (RKD), The New Institute (of architecture), and several museums.
Students need final approval by the Examination Committee of the MA Arts and Culture and the Humanities Career Service.
Academic research is a crucial aspect of the internship: a specific research topic whould be formulated and discussed by the student and Internship Supervisor of the Arts & Cultre Department and approved by the Board of Examiners, prior to the Internship. This research will result in a separate research paper (see Assessment Method).
