Description

This course introduces students to the European and international public policies that affect data-science and AI. During the course, core concepts of regulatory governance in the EU will be introduced. The developments are looked at in a historic and comparative perspective. We consider how the European regulatory model differs from other models and how regulatory governance models relate to ethical and cultural notions. We will compare different digital governance models and look at their convergence and divergence. During the course, the students will engage with the topic of regulatory governance, by implementing a literature review that serves to develop a research proposal on a governance problem in data science.
