This course is a specialisation module of the MSc Industrial Ecology (joint degree TU Delft and Leiden University).
Description
This course is a first-year elective module for the joint degree MSc Programme on Industrial Ecology. The course teaches basic concepts, methods, tools, and indicators related to the circular economy.
Course objectives
Knowledge of concepts and definitions related to Circular Economy
Insight in analytical framework for Circular Economy
Insight in (sense and nonsense of) metrics for Circular Economy
Insight in technological options for circularity
Insight in business models and governance options for Circular Economy
Ability to apply knowledge and insights in a practical case study
Timetable

Mode of instruction
Interactive lectures with discussions, flipped classrooms using MOOC material, case study based learning.
Assessment method
Group assignment on a case study.
Final grades are expressed by means of a figure between 1 and 10, rounded to the nearest half. The grade 5,5 cannot be granted. Grades between 5,01 and 5,49 are rounded to 5,0 and grades between 5,50 and 5,99 are rounded to 6,0.

Not being enrolled for an exam/resit means that you are not allowed to participate in the exam/resit.

Software
Starting from the 2024/2025 academic year, the Faculty of Science will use the software distribution platform Academic Software. Through this platform, you can access the software needed for specific courses in your studies. For some software, your laptop must meet certain system requirements, which will be specified with the software. It is important to install the software before the start of the course.
