This course is accessible only to third year students of the CADS bachelor’s programme.

Course Description
The Tutoring and Career Orientation programme (PPP / MMM) runs throughout the entire bachelor’s programme. In the third year the focus is on reflecting on the choices made and skills learned during the bachelor’s programme, and on making plans for the future.
The following questions and topics are central to the third year:
Orientation on master’s programmes: What will you do after your bachelor’s? Will you continue to a master’s programme? Which programme fits your career planning?
Reflecting on your knowledge, skills and experience: What are your strengths and competences? What can you do to gain more relevant knowledge, skills and experience?
Orientation on the labour market: What is the value of anthropology in the labour market? Where do anthropologists work? How do you envision your future career? What can you offer an employer? How do you present yourself to the labour market?
Course Objectives
Central to the Career Orientation programme are the questions, "Who am I?", "What do I want?", "What are my competences" and "How do I achieve my goals?". More specifically, in the third year the focus lies on:
taking responsibility for your own personal and professional development;
making conscious study choices that are in line with your personal competencies and wishes;
gaining insight into the connections between the knowledge, skills and experiences you gain from the bachelor’s programme and the possibilities and wishes you have for your future professional career;
familiarising yourself with the labour market for anthropologists;
gaining and practising application skills, such as networking, creating a good CV, writing an application letter, and attending a job interview.

Schedule
The third-year Tutoring and Career Orientation Programme consists of a (mandatory) curricular element, which is our third-year course Personal and Professional Impact for CADS, as well as extra-curricular activities, which students organise and schedule themselves.
Various extra-curricular activities are offered with regard to study skills and career orientation. Keep an eye on the workshops and events calendar, the LU Career Service, FSW Career Service and CADS Facebook page, and announcements in Brightspace.

Assessment Method
The Tutoring and Career Orientation programme is not assessed and no credits are awarded. However, specified tasks must be executed properly.

Brightspace is used to share information about the Tutoring and Career Orientation programme, internship vacancies, interesting events, inspiring stories, and tips, and tricks on career preparation.
