Vak
2024-2025

Admission requirements

Admission only after intake, please see our website

Description

The course is aimed at cyber security specialists interested in the governance and technical aspects of securing industrial control systems (ICSs) controlling physical systems (SCADA, ICS and IoT).
The course will provide an overview of various critical infrastructures and focus on electrical power grids.

Course objectives

Participants are able to:

  • describe and discuss the stakeholders of and complexities in critical infrastructures.

  • explain and analyse the ICS architectures for power grids.

  • explain main cyber security concepts and common policies in ICS for power grids.

  • analyse threats, threat vectors, and vulnerabilities of industrial control systems.

  • examine kill chain stages of the cyber attack process on industrial control systems.

  • analyse the impact of cyber attacks on power grids and their cascading effect on other interconnected critical infrastructures.

  • recommend appropriate security controls to mitigate cyber attacks on industrial control systems.

  • describe and discuss best practices for threat intelligence management and cyber security incident response in ICS for power grids.
