Thesis Research Project (BSc SfSS)

Vak
2025-2026

The information below is subject to change as the course is still being developed. The information will be made definite in June 2027.

The Thesis Research Project is the final course of the BSc Science for Sustainable Societies. It builds on the Research Design course of year 2 and on the Sustainable Societies Project, in which you completed a research cycle for a group project. In this course, you will follow and complete a research cycle individually, while participating in a capstone group of ca. 8-12 students. A capstone group is led by two thesis supervisors with different expertise and coming from different faculties. One of these will be your primary supervisor.

After completing the Sustainable Societies Project, you will start to work on your thesis full-time. Throughout these weeks, you will regularly meet with your capstone group. During these meetings, you present your progress and discuss questions, struggles and successes. You will receive (peer) feedback and guidance, and will also help out fellow students by providing feedback. In addition, you will also have individual feedback meetings with your primary supervisor.
