Admission requirements
Registered for a (half) minor starting September 2026 (or already finished a half minor).
Description
The field of Biomedical Sciences is broad with opportunities in many directions. During the first 2 years of your bachelor you have become acquainted with biomedical research in academia and explored opportunities in life science industry through DLSC. Most of your third year will be spend on a minor and an internship (SRP), and you will probably also decide what to do after your bachelor. The aim of Choose your Future is to learn to make a rational choice by means of a conscious strategy. Insight into the process of choosing, e.g. by reflecting on choices that you already have made, is helpful for choices you have to make, such as finding an internship and (possibly) choosing a master program after your bachelor. This week will include workshops on making choices and on writing a CV and cover letter, e.g. in search of your SRP. Furthermore, we will use the program of the master Biomedical Sciences (BMS) in Leiden to illustrate various possibilities within the life sciences, such as Communication and Management. The week will also include lectures on the content of the various master programs offered by the LUMC, as an illustration of the master orientation process. Choose your Future will help you prepare for the choices you have to make in the (near) future and give you a glimpse of all the possibilities that are out there.
