Consulting is an integral part of a psychometrician’s life, whether in academia, government or industry. Statistical and methodological consultation may involve brief interactions to respond to very specific questions or long term associations as a member of research projects.

Aims
The goal of this course is to develop consultancy skills, such as how to effectively communicate with researchers and practitioners. Emphasis will be given to issues of design, sampling, measurement instruments, data analysis and statistics in a consultation setting.

Examination
Presentations of reading materials and role plays (will be graded on process, communication skills and technical accuracy).
Final written exam.

Master students Methodology and Statistics. Course Multivariate data analysis at introductory level.
Education method(s)
Lectures and consulting labs (training sessions) with case studies and role plays.
Enrolment
Introduction and enrolment for courses of the first semester will take place August 27th 2009. Introduction and enrolment for courses of the second semester will take place in January 2009. More information will be available at the website of the Department of Psychology.
NB: Exam and re-exam registration will take place via U-Twist, and will be open between a month and a week before the (re)exam. Students who haven’t registered, cannot participate in the (re)exam.
