Description
The purpose of this seminar is to provide knowledge and insights into the triangle: electorate – political parties – party system. During the seminar we will examine these three concepts theoretically and empirically and investigate the connections between them. More specifically, we will discuss themes such as electoral behaviour; the alignment and re/dealignment processes; models of political parties; change and stability in the party system; candidates selection and e-voting. The seminar will focus on industrialized, democratic countries over different periods of time.
