Master Thesis in Researchmaster Psychology

Vak
2010-2011

Coordinator

Principal of the track within the Research Master

Description

The research master thesis will enable the student to carry out their own study and gain experience with all the phases of empirical research in psychology, applying the knowledge and skills acquired in different course modules. The student selects a supervisor of the Institute of Psychology at Leiden University (i.e., the internal supervisor), who guides the student during his selection of a research lab and topic, will monitor the feasibility of the intended research in the context of the thesis, and will advise the student in the case of difficulties or delays in the progress of his research.

First, students will work on the development of a research question and research design, and will write a research proposal on the basis of the relevant literature. During the second phase they will focus on data collection and data analysis, and during the third phase they will prepare a written research report (master thesis).

Detailed information about the research master thesis is provided in the module ‘Research Master Psychology Internship and Thesis’, posted on Blackboard.
