Elective: Methods in Child Language Research

Description

The course offers an overview of the different methods used in child language research. We will discuss behavioral methods, ERP and brain imaging methods and databases used in recent studies on child language perception and child language production. The focus is on the acquisition of the sound system.

Mode of instruction

For every class, students are required to hand in at least two critical questions based on each article that will be discussed. In addition, a written paper and oral presentation is required in which a reasearch proposal is presented.

Assessment method

Weekly assignments, written examination, presentation.
