Description
The ‘rule of law’ is a central concept in the philosophy of law and cognate subjects. In this course we explore its character and value. The course is divided into two sections. First we study the history and development of the idea of the rule of law through a number of primary and secondary readings. Secondly, we critically examine leading contemporary writings in legal theory and political philosophy.
