Key topics concern differences in macroeconomic performance across the ten ASEAN member states, the conditions underlying rapid economic growth, the role of the state in the process of economic growth and structural change, causes and effects of the Asian crisis in the late 1990s, and the current tendencies towards a further economic integration within the ASEAN.
