Description
This course introduces the field of Palaeoanthropology with a focus on the skeletal evidence to RMA-students. It presents The MPI-EVA and new methods in palaeoanthropology (dental studies, life history, diet).
Course objectives
Knowledge of key species in hominin evolution, with a focus on Eurasian Middle and Late Pleistocene;
Knowledge of scientific methods for the study of human evolution;
Insights into the interdisciplinary character of Palaeoanthropology and the progress made in recent years by the integration of various approaches.
Ects distribution
The course load will be distributed as follows:
7×2 hours of lectures;
280 pages of literature;
Assignment.

Lectures;
Literature study.
Assessment method
Written assignment on one of the topics addressed during the one-week lecture series, to be submitted one month after the lectures.
Assessment deadline
