Teaching assistance in "Research in Mesoamerica and the Andes" and "Visual culture"

Admission requirements

Admission to the RMA-programme.


RMA-students assist in coaching students as part of the Research in Mesoamerica and Andes course (MA) and Visual culture (Bachelor 2). Other activities such as helping in the organisation of a symposium or leading discussions during other courses that belong to their programme, are also part of Teaching assistance.
Teaching assistance takes place in blocks 1, 2 and 3.

Course objectives

  • Ability to place key points and lead the discussion during seminar courses;

  • Editing papers and giving constructive feedback;

  • Experience in coaching students in cooperation with staff;

  • Assessment of quality of papers according to prescribed protocol;

  • Experience in organising conferences or congresses.

The course load will be distributed as follows:

Mode of instruction

Supervision of assistance during the course.

Assessment method

The overall teaching and coaching skills will be evaluated throughout the courses.
