To be registered as a student of the Research Master Latin American Studies.
This common core course provides a general introduction into the Latin American and Caribbean studies, aiming to present the main theoretical and analytical tools which are applied in the research master’s programme. For this purpose, attention will be paid to several academic debates which have been approached in distinctive ways in the different sub-regions this Research Master is focused on. Also attention will be given to the use of multidisciplinary and comparative approaches in academic undertakings.
This introductory course aims to provide the students with a general spectrum and themes and subjects which will be central during the entire Research Master. A key subject in this review course will be the relation between the Latin American and the Caribbean regions, both in the past as well as in the present.
