Series of lectures about the molecular aspects of virus replication. Topics addressed include discovery and classification of viruses, viral entry pathways, translation and replication strategies, encapsidation, egress and evolution. The focus will be on RNA viruses such as HIV, influenza virus, coronavirus, poliovirus, as well as those infecting plants and bacteria. Anti-viral strategies and applications are also discussed.
