This course is only available for students in the BA International Studies.
Prerequisites: Swahili 1 and 2
During this course you will gain more in-depth knowledge of Swahili.
We will mainly use portfolio’s to enable you to focus on different subjects like history, gender issues and culture. After reading about a certain subject you will learn the vocabulary and grammar you need to write, talk and listen about this subject. This way we will explore the language to the full.
Objective of the course Swahili 3 is to reach level B1 (Common European Framework of Reference).
More specifically, after completion of the course, students should be able to:
Have a common conversation about different subjects like work, life in general, culture, politics and economics.
Understand a standard speech or a presentation about the above mentioned subjects.
Read short stories, some newspaper articles and advertisements.
Write a short paper about a certain subject.
The timetable will be available on the BA International Studies website this autumn.
