This honours course is based on and runs jointly with the course Research Based Business Planning. Major difference is that the plan to be made will be based on a business idea of an existing company on the Leiden BioScience Park.
Participants will write a fully developed business plan on behalf of the stakeholder company. They will do so in a team of 3-5 persons. In doing so, they will be coached by a company representative and staff of the program Science Based Business. With the plan, they will participate in the New Venture Competition. Background knowledge will be acquired in several seminars and by reading a book and other selected literature. At some of the seminars, it will be required to present the progress of their planning process. This will be enhanced by individual feedback sessions.

Beoordeling
Grading will be based on the written business plan, the presentation of the business plan, tests and/or class participation.
Rooster
The kick-off meeting of the course RBBP will be in November 2013 (exact date to be announced).
Seminars in Leiden will be on Thursday evenings from November 2013 until February 2014, precise dates and agendas will be announced later and can be found in the E-guide. In addition, where feasible the New Venture meetings will be attended. Final meeting in Leiden will be in February 2014 (exact date to be announced). The definitive business plan needs to be submitted around mid May. When successful, further presentation(s) of the plan are due during the finals of the New Venture Competition in the 2nd half of June.
Additional feedback sessions will be planned with the company coach and teaching staff.
