Admisson requirements
Admission is conditional on submission for the minor Entrepreneurship for Society
A knowledge of Dutch is not necessary. You should have obtained your propedeuse before starting this minor.
Description
To be effective in school, work and private life, students must be able to exhibit a range of functional and critical thinking skills related to information, media and technology. Today’s life and work environments require far more than thinking skills and content knowledge. They need the ability to navigate the complex life and work environments. This course is divided into three seminars. Every seminar lasts three full days, each seminar focussing on one theme.
Creative confidence (Design Thinking, Applied Improvisation, Reflection and Teamwork)
Professional confidence (Organisations, Finance, Project Management, Contracting)
Technological conficende (Coding, Big Data, 3D Printing, Social Network Analysis).
In three seminars consisting of a. theory, b. workshop and c. reflection, students are introduced to fundamental skills needed to be effective in business, policy and science. Theoretical models and practical case studies will be provided by academics and practitioners. This is not a course to lean back and listen, students will need to be on the top of your game during the intensive workshops. Hence, the best learning is by doing. The use of simulations and case study examples are identified as key learning method.
