Vak
2017-2018

Admission requirements

This course is only available for students in the BA International Studies who have passed Spanish 1 Pre-Intermediate.

Description

This is a language course for upper-intermediate students, that it has a communicative approach. Attention will be paid to the use of the language in academic and professional contexts.
The focus will be on listening, speaking, reading, and writing. For this purpose, we will use a comprehensive advanced-level method: Vitamina C1 . Covering level C1 of the CEFR, this action-based manual places a particular emphasis on linguistic competence and communication.
Packed with up-to-date articles throughout, Vitamina C1 studies a range of relevant topics from a fresh and interesting point of view. The texts and audio excerpts are authentic, and integrate the wide variety of accents and cultures encompassing the Spanish-speaking world.

Course objectives

This course enables the student to achieve a good level B2 of the Common European Frame (CEF).
This course is the second course in a series of three language acquisition courses within the International Studies program. The final objective of this course series is to obtain an advanced level of proficiency in Spanish: the student will be able to use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes and to interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party.
