While the Indonesian language, Bahasa Indonesia, is dominant within the government sector, the media and in the field of education, the so-called regional languages continue for most Indonesians to play a central role in every-day life. This course provides an introduction to the Javanese language, spoken by 40% of the Indonesian population.
