Vak
2018-2019

Admission requirements

Familiarity with the Indo-European phonology is required.

### Description

On the basis of knowledge acquired during the course “Indo-European Linguistics I Phonology”, we proceed to the reconstruction of Indo-European morphology.
First we will deal with methodology: how to use the evidence from various archaic Indo-European languages in order to reconstruct the original nominal and verbal paradigms. Next, the major inflection types will be treated which we assume for Proto-Indo-European, as well as its reflexes in the daughter languages.
We’ll also pay attention to various opinions concerning the details of the reconstruction.
