International Arbitration in Public International Law

The course addresses the role of international arbitration in settling public international law disputes. Its focus lies primarily on inter-State arbitration, and it also introduces students to investment treaty arbitration. The course covers the basic principles and foundation of international arbitration, and then tackles in detail the law and practice of international arbitration in international law. It includes the role of international arbitration in settling disputes in public international law and the procedure governing inter-State arbitration. Special attention will be given to the specific features of investment treaty arbitration and its public dimension.
