Mode of instruction

8 2-hours lectures (weblectures available)
8 2-hours workgroup session (attendance required)

Attendance at the workgroup sessions is mandatory. In the event of force majeure, a maximum of 2 meetings may be missed. If one is absent from a meeting at which one has to do the presentation, this leads to a deduction of 2 points from this partial mark. Arriving late (> 10 minutes) is considered absent.

Assessment method

The lectures conclude with an examination consisting of approximately 55 four-choice questions (70% of the mark).
The workgroup sessions conclude with a workgroup grade (30% of the final mark).
Compensation is allowed when exam grade and workgroup grade are both ≥5.0

The workgroup grade is composed with 0,25 homework assignments, 0,25 presentation and 0,5 final paper.
Homework assignments and the presentation don’t have a resit option. Whe the workgroup endgrade < 5.0 an alternative assignment can be made, which replaces the grade of the final paper.

The literature for the exam is the integral book: ‘Custom Published Book’: Introduction to Personality, Clinical & Health Psychology, Leiden University Custom Edition, McGrawHill) (ISBN 978-1398911109) and the lectures slides.

The book of K. Pryor and the syllabus are not part of the exam.

The Institute of Psychology uses fixed rules for grade calculation and compulsory attendance. It also follows the policy of the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences to systematically check student papers for plagiarism with the help of software. Disciplinary measures will be taken when fraud is detected. Students are expected to be familiar with and understand the implications of these three policies.

Consultation of the exam will take place at a plenary session some weeks after the exam (the date of which will be announced at a later date).
