The course content will focus on general knowledge, such as grammar and (kanji) vocabulary necessary for communication at an intermediate level, reviewing the contents of the pre-intermediate level. This course will cover some selected chapters and materials in the Tobira textbook.
At the end of the course, students will be expected to perform sufficiently in speaking and listening skills at a basic level of proficiency, which is equivalent to B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Language (CEFR). Tobira is a content-based textbook which provides content that satisfies students’ interest while at the same time cultivating their knowledge, thereby easing the transition into a higher level of Japanese proficiency.
