Methods of instruction

A weeklong series of workshops including lectures, computer use, literature study and discussion.

Course requirements/recommendations

MSc. Course: Introduction to phylogenetic analysis

The course is aimed at advanced MSc or PhD students who need to use phylogenetic analysis in the course of a project and who have collected at least some data to be analyzed, but is also open for staff members who want to brush up on the topics included. Practical work will be aimed at \“getting a leg-up\” with the analysis of the students data. It is therefore important that each student brings a dataset in a readable format (Nexus or Hennig86-format) to work with.

Registration is open (hovenkamp@nhn.leidenuniv.nl). When the minimum number of participants is reached, the course will be scheduled after consultation with all participants.

Reader, approx. EURO 15.
Otherwise, the course is free of charge for participants associated with the Research School Biodiversity.
