Modern Chinese Economy B

Course
2008-2009

This course examines a number of economic sectors and policy fields by first introducing the relevant economic models to understand each area and then applying this knowledge to the case of the PRC. The approach is thematic and focuses on fields such as fiscal and monetary policy, growth and development strategies, population and employment policies, science and technology policies, and others. Economic sectors to be analysed include agriculture, heavy industry, light manufacturing, and services.
