Master Class: Modernity in Latin America

2009-2010

This course analyses the historical and cultural foundation of striving for modernity in Latin America from a historical and cultural perspective, from the nineteenth century to the present. Several modernisation projects that have been carried out in the region are analysed. Attention is also paid to the relationship between modernity and identity in Latin America.
