Beschrijving
This course develops skills in reading hieroglyphic texts in Old and Middle Egyptian from the Pyramid and Coffin Texts. Some secondary literature will also be read and discussed in connection with the primary material.

Tutorial.
Toetsing
A short, oral presentation (30%) on a Pyramid or Coffin Text.
An examination (70%) consisting of essay questions on secondary literature and translation and parsing of passages of texts (from in-class readings and texts not read in class). Neither dictionaries nor other aids may be used
