Toegangseis
Studenten die deze cursus willen volgen, dienen de cursussen Inleiding Middelegyptisch (EG11IME) en Lectuur Middelegyptisch (EG12LME) te hebben afgerond.
Voor deze cursus is een zeker ingangsniveau vereist. Wie deze cursus als contractstudent wil volgen wordt daarom verzocht voor inschrijving contact op te nemen met de docent.
Beschrijving
A lecture on grammatical and orthographic differences between Old and Middle Egyptian grammar, followed by class readings in autobiographical and historical texts in Classical Egyptian.
Leerdoelen
This course will introduce students to Old Egyptian and develop their language skills in Middle Egyptian. It will also provide an opportunity to apply textual information to the development of ideas and their expression in an essay.

A short essay on an assigned text, due in Toetsweek C.
An examination consisting of a) open questions concerning the secondary literature and b) transliteration and translation of passages from texts read in class. Neither dictionaries nor other aids may be used.
