Language change is a natural process. One of the important causes of language change is language contact. In this course, the major issues in the theory and practice of the study of contact-induced change will be assessed.

Course objectives
The students should gain insights in the results and problems of modern study of contact-induced change. They will be able to analyze different types of outcomes of language contact by means of the insights and tools they will acquire during the course.
