A pass mark for Linguistics 4 and Linguistics 5 Phonology or similar courses.
Description
In this course we will consider some recent developments in phonological theory. Topics to be discussed will be drawn from government phonology, with particular attention to their importance for the study of English phonology.
Course Objectives
Students become acquainted with a particular theoretical approach to phonology, and apply this to English data.

Mode of Instruction
Two hour seminar per week.
Assessment
One in-term written assignment (30%), final written examination (70%).
