Admission requirements

Degree students (including Dutch BA graduates): BA degree (or equivalent) in Archaeology or a relevant discipline.
SAP and Exchange Students: BA degree. Admission only after formal application.

Description

This course centres on preparation for, active participation in, and subsequent critical reports on the Current Issues Seminar and associated occasional Current Issues Workshops.

Course objectives

The purpose of this course is to inform the class of current research directions, methods and theories, and encourage students to formulate and express their own views in class and on paper.

Mode of instruction

Students will study set reading material for each seminar or workshop, prepare questions for the speakers, and then for the following event write a short review (ca. 500 words) of the seminar or workshop preceding.

Assessment method

All the discussion papers through the year will be assessed. Deadlines for submission of the papers: 2 weeks after each event.

Will be provided individually for each seminar or workshop.
