Thesis Seminar: Opposition in Dutch Politics

Course
2011-2012

Description

Due to its peaceful history, the focus in the literature on Dutch politics is on finding an explanation of political stability. As a result, scholars tend to pay most attention on the Dutch traditions in government and governance. In this seminar the focus however will be on opposition in Dutch politics. While the seminar will focus on opposition parties and their support in different eras, we aim to consider other forms of opposition too and will also wish to consider how Dutch elites have responded to different forms of opposition.
