Description
This course is taught in three modules of eight lectures. In these modules the development of the so-called “light media music” from the 1950s onwards will be discussed. Attention will be drawn to the different idioms of sounds that come with the different technologies (radio, gramophone, CD), and also to the concept of electronic sound development through the years.Students will listen to a variety of sound fragments and will learn about the acoustic circumstances which played a role in the recording and reproducing of the music.
