Description
In the follow-up course of Hymnology 1 students will explore the historical aspect of church music further, and also deepen their understanding of polyphonic church music (both Catholic and Protestant). This module makes the connection with the 21st century: how is polyphonic music incorporated in present day Mass and Office? In this context, several present-day hymnbooks are analyzed.
The period which is covered in this module ranges from 1700 till present day.
