Description
This course is an extensive introduction into business studies and entrepreneurship. During the interactive seminars and case discussions, and by writing a business plan, the student will obtain a comprehensive understanding of important elements of business and entrepreneurship, which will be of great use in other, more advanced business courses. Topics that will be discussed include principles of entrepreneurship, marketing, strategy, financial management, leadership and corporate social responsibility. Wherever possible, these themes will be linked to the relevant law.

Objectives of the course
The objective of this course is to introduce students thoroughly into the world of business in general and, more specifically, entrepreneurship.
Achievement levels
After completion of this course, the student should have acquired knowledge of:
Principles of international entrepreneurship and marketing
Principles of financial management (financing and management accounting)
Principles of financial accounting
Principles of strategic marketing management
Principles of corporate social responsibility
De students should also be able to write and present an innovative and feasible business plan.

Every week, a part of the business plan has to be handed in.
Areas to be tested within the exam
The examination syllabus consists of the required reading (literature) for the course, the course information guide and the subjects taught in the lectures, the seminars and all other instructions which are part of the course.
