Statistical Physics 2

Course
2013-2014

Description

In the course we will develop a themodynamics description of the world around us starting from a few basics axioms. The approach will lead to a more general formulation of thermodynamics as was developed in Statistical Physics 1.
Further we will increase complexity of the systems to allow for interaction. We will discuss approximate methods, virial expansion, high- and low-temperature expansion, and mean field theory, for the description of interacting systems.
