MA internship Palaeoecology

Course
2013-2014

The Palaeoecology internship involves participation in frontline research, contributing to a multidisciplinary interpretation of archaeological sites. Laboratory work will place the archaeological data into a geographical, ecological and stratigraphical context.

If the Internship is carried out in the laboratories at Leiden, prof. van Kolfschoten and dr. Field will closely guide and monitor the student’s progress.
If the internship takes place outside Leiden University, the instructors will liaise with the relevant contact person to ensure that a suitable amount and level of investigation is undertaken by the student.

Involvement in an ongoing research project will comprise laboratory analysis and Access database work, resulting in the production of a quality proxy dataset. Attendance of the BA3 Botany/Zoology specialisation class prior to the internship is deemed to be necessary by the instructors.
