This course is only available for students in the BA International Studies.
Successful completion of Swahili 1.

Description

During this course you will gain more in-depth knowledge of Swahili.
We will mainly use portfolio’s to enable you to focus on different subjects like history, economics, politics, gender issues and culture.

Course objectives

Objectives of the Swahili course 2 A2/B1:

  • Speaking: A common conversation about different subjects like work, life in general, culture, politics and economics.

  • Listening: To understand a standard speech or a presentation about the above mentioned subjects.

  • Reading: Short stories, some newspaper articles, advertisements.

  • Writing: You will be able to write a short paper about a certain subject.

This will be a subject-oriented course. After reading about a certain subject you will learn the vocabulary and grammar you need to write, talk and listen about this subject. This way we will explore the language to the full.

Attending lectures and tutorials is compulsory. If you are not able to attend a lecture or tutorial, please inform the tutor of the course. Being absent without notification can result in a lower grade or exclusion from the final exam or essay.
