Tibetan 1-4 or equivalent knowledge of classical Tibetan

Description

Introduction to and practical reading exercises of capita selecta of various genres in classical Tibetan literature.

Course objectives

Advanced skill in translating texts of various genres in classical Tibetan.

Attendance is compulsory. If you are not able to attend a lecture or tutorial, please inform the tutor of the course.

Course Load

Total course load (10 EC): 280 hours:

  • attending lectures (ca. 50 hours)

  • preparation for the lectures (ca. 100 hours)

  • writing paper and preparation for exams (ca. 130 hours).

Mid term written exam (20%)
Final written exam (50%)
Final paper (30%)
re-sit 70% (over midterm and final exam)
