This class is only accessible for students of the MA African Studies.
Description
The thesis classes will provide a focused environment for a first grounding in the specific methodological and disciplinary approach most relevant to the students’ expected thesis topic. The students will be guided through the process of designing a research project and preparing an MA thesis outline, including the practical aspects of academic writing and publishing. Seven classes will be offered.

9 September 17.00-19.00 – Introduction; tasks and deadlines; information on Internship coordinator (who is and how to contact him/her) and on meeting on medical issues.
23 September – Meeting with lecturers and research groups
7 October – Students present Initial proposal: (1 or 2) pages
28 November: Students present background readings and textbook chapters; discussion situation funding and Internship
11 November: Students present Research Proposal First draft: 7 pages including WORK PLAN and Internship form (to check that all the students contacted the Internship coordinator and worked on it).
25 November: Students present background readings and textbook chapters; discussion situation funding and Internship
9 December : Students present Research Proposal Final version: 10 pages
