Admission requirements
Compulsory for students enrolled in the RESMAAS program.
Description
Students are introduced to various academic publication outlets and the processes and procedures involved in them. What are the major choices and decisions one has to make when preparing a publishable work? Next to content, various lay-out as well as stylistic issues are discussed.
Course objectives
To enable students make a critical and conscious use of various forms and means of dissemination of research findings.
Timetable
Wednesdays 13:00-15:00 hrs
Mode of instruction
Seminar form, with introductory lectures, and expert-led debates with intensive student input; seven scientific debates and six practitioners debates
Course Load
The course comprises 5 EC and the total course load is thus 140 hrs
Three intermittent seminar meetings of 3 hrs will be organized (9 hrs)
131 hrs will be spent on reading and preparing assigned tasks for each meeting
Assessment method
Evaluation of a publishable paper on a topic of a student’s choice
If a student fails to attain a pass on the basis of the evaluation of the paper, a second chance will be offered to rewrite the paper and resubmit for evaluation.
Blackboard
Yes. Available for registered students. Assignments, course information and feedback will be exchanged using Blackboard.
Reading list
A list of relevant literature will be compiled.
Registration
Enrollment through uSis for the course and the examination or paper is mandatory.
